Ann Arbor Chapel
Maurice Jennings + David McKee Architects This 500 square-foot chapel seats twenty and is intended for small services. Large ridge skylights and tall clerestory windows above the side-isles provide an ever-changing pattern of light and shadow on the built-up wood "bent" members. The flagstone floor and the crossbraces continue past the glazed walls to provide a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors. Heating and cooling is supplied through concealed ducts in the low stone walls. Custom sconces and landscape fixtures repeat the crossing geometric theme of the "bents". |
